“This challenge is that this problem is imminently solvable, and that's the good news. But it's going to
require us working together — not just the administration, but Congress, governors, mayors, parents,
teachers. Anyone who has access to children in their lives is going to have to work together.
And one of the things that's also very clear is that this problem
won't be solved by any single federal solution.
This is going to require national action.”
First Lady Michelle Obama, February 2
More than two-thirds of food and beverage television advertising geared toward children under 12 showcases healthy choices and active lifestyles.

America’s food and beverage companies are working to make our food better for you every day.

We have changed more than 10,000 recipes, reducing fats, sugar, calories and sodium to offer consumers more healthy options in their grocery aisles. And we are making strides in meeting consumer demand for more healthy foods that are tasty, convenient and affordable.

We are working with communities, school districts and government agencies to get nutritious foods in schools and investing millions of dollars into programs that teach kids the value of nutrition and exercise.

We have also changed the way we market our products to kids and families, with more than two-thirds of advertising during children's programming showcasing healthy choices and active lifestyles. As the makers of the food Americans eat every day, we are committed to doing our part to improve the health and wellness of all Americans.
